Este es el primer párrafo introductorio del libro de Stephen Tow' llamado The Strangest Tribe. El libro es un viaje a través de ocho capítulos donde pone lupa y profundiza en la escena de Seattle desde los años 70 hasta hoy.

El escritor relata la historia mediante entrevistas a través de entender todos los puntos de vista. Con toda esta información, el lector tiene conocimiento suficiente para conocer el movimiento grunge en profundidad, hablo de una enorme cantidad de datos.

Foo Fighters parte 2

Foo Fighters dejaron Capitol Recors y firmaron por RCA Records (el acuerdo con esta firma duró hasta 2013), eso fue todo un cambio, fichaban por una multinacional grande. Otro gran cambio fue que Dave Grohl ordenó construir un estudio propio en Alexandria, Virginia (su estado de nacimiento, al este de los Estados Unidos). Esto le proporcionó la soledad necesaria y concentrarse en las próximas grabaciones con el objetivos principal de evitar problemas personales ocurridos en los dos primeros discos, incluidas salidas de componentes.

Franz Stahl no permaneció demasiado tampoco, fue directamente expulsado al no "encontrar su espacio en la banda". Por lo tanto, la lista de músicos para el próximo trabajo era la formada por Dave Grohl como vocalista y guitarrista, Nate Mendel como bajista y Taylor Hawkins como batería. Foo Fighters era en este momento un trio.

Third FF album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose

El tercer álbum de estudio fue titulado "There Is Nothing Left To Lose" y fue lanzado el 2 de noviembre de 1999 a traves de como hemos dicho RCA Records.

Se grabó en los estudios Studios 606 en la citada Alexandria, Virginia. El productor fue Adam Kasper.

Fue el primer LP donde Taylor Hawkins participó, él se convertiría en poco tiempo en una de las piezas importantes de Foo Fighters.

Las nuevas canciones tenían un aire totalmente diferente a los dos LPs anteriores, en palabras de Grohl este trabajo "está basado totalmente en melodías"

FF ganaría un Grammy al mejor álbum de rock en 2001.

El single principal fue "Learn To Fly".

Foo Fighters parte 1

1994 es considerado para muchos un año clave antes y después en el grunge, durante principios de los 90 ya bandas como Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Offspring o Green Day y muchas más surgían como nueva ola.

Una de esas bandas fue Foo Fighters. El grupo formado en Seattle en 1994 por hasta el entonces batería de Nirvana Dave Grohl. En Abril Nirvana acabó su andadura por la muerte de Kurt Cobain, fue entonces cuando Dave tomó un tiempo para focalizarse en su propia vida y futuro, al poco tiempo ya era consciente que lo mejor forma de seguir adelante era precisamente seguir tocando rock. Fue su mejor terapia.

El nombre del grupo viene de aquellos pilotos de aviación de la Segunda Guerra Mundial denominados en los informes UFO u OVNI.

First FF album, Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl fue a los estudios de Seattle Robert Land Studios y grabó su primer álbum por si mismo durante tan solo seis días, Dave tocó todos los instrumentos. Era octubre de 1994 y se realizó cerca de su casa en la ciudad de la lluvia. El título del LP fue el mismo que la banda "Foo Fighters".

Este LP contiene temas de grabaciones propias que Dave Grohl tenia de años anteriores, su propia música creada en tiempos de Nirvana.

Nueve canciones pertenecen a grabaciones anteriores y tan solo cuatro fueron compuestas después de la desaparición de Nirvana. El ordon de las canciones reflejan este orden cronológico.

Hubo tan solo una excepción, fue el tema "X-Static", Greg Dulli tocó la guitarra.

El productor fue Barrett Jones y el single principal fue

"This is a Call".

Deranged Diction

Deranged Diction fue una banda punk formada en Missoula, Montana en 1982. Cuatro chicos empezaron este grupo:

Ellos compartían dos grandes pasiones, el punk rock y el skateboarding o monopatín. En un primer momento, tocaron un punk muy rápido, y poco a poco fueron derivando a un punk de medio tiempo.

The U-Men

When you try to select some key bands, those bands which changed the Seattle scene and turned the grunge term into a reality, The U-Men should be in your list.

The U-Men was formed in 1981 in Seattle and disbanded in 1989, almost a decade and still its legacy is honoured . They played punk rock, they opened a new trend over the United States during 80s, and nobody could ensure how a concert was going to finish. They were the first punk rock band booked at the Bumbershoot Festival in the Seattle Center, they lighted the stage and the moat on fire and kept on playing the songs.

Some gigs of The U-Men were shut down by the Seattle police.

They added talent and pushed forward hard for the alternative music, their own references were bands like The Sonics or The Wailers.
